A Milestone of Hope: Florence’s Journey Through Sponsorship
When Florence joined the Center For Tomorrow sponsorship program in 2019, she was a young learner full of potential, hope, and determination. Like many children from vulnerable backgrounds, her educational journey was filled with challenges but she carried a quiet resilience that stood out from the very beginning.
Then came COVID-19.
The prolonged school closures disrupted learning across the country, and for sponsored children like Florence, the risk of dropping out increased significantly. Access to learning materials became limited, routines were broken, and uncertainty clouded the future. Yet, through consistent support, encouragement, and follow-up from the sponsorship program, Florence remained connected to her education.
Despite the delays, the setbacks, and the emotional toll of the pandemic years, Florence persevered.
In 2025, Florence achieved a historic milestone: She sat for her Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) becoming the very first child sponsored by Center For Tomorrow to reach and complete this stage.
This achievement represents far more than an exam. It is a testament to:
• The power of long-term sponsorship
• The importance of consistent child support, even during crises
• The resilience of a determined child
• The impact of partners and sponsors who stayed the course
Florence’s journey reminds us that when a child is supported, protected, and believed in, even global disruptions cannot erase their future.
As we celebrate Florence, we also celebrate every sponsor who walked this journey with her. Her success is proof that sponsorship changes lives, not overnight, but for a lifetime.
Florence’s story marks a beginning, not an end. She is paving the way for many more sponsored children to follow.
