Center For Tomorrow is a nonprofit in Kampala, Uganda. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and newsletter subscribers anywhere in the world.
We keep personal information in line with the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another place with its own privacy law, we also honor the rights that law gives you when it applies to us.

Information we collect
We only collect information you give us, plus a small amount of technical data needed to run and protect the site.
- Contact form. Your name, email address, topic, subject, and message.
- Newsletter. Your email address, a name if you provide one, the page you signed up from, and the IP address used for that signup. Signing up confirms your subscription, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Donations. Your first and last name, email, phone number, amount, currency (UGX or USD), payment method, an optional note, and a transaction reference. Card and mobile-money details are entered in Flutterwave’s checkout. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Volunteering. Your name, email, phone number, area of interest, availability, message, and the IP address of the submission.
- Child sponsorship profiles. We publish limited details about children in our programs — such as a name, age, photograph, need, and story — so a sponsor can see who is waiting for support. We do not publish a child’s home address or private contact details.
- Letters. If you email or post a letter for a sponsored child, we use your name and the child’s reference so we can deliver the message.
- Technical data. An essential session cookie that keeps forms secure, and basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) used to limit abuse. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To reply to messages and volunteer applications.
- To receive and record donations, and to send a receipt or confirmation.
- To connect sponsors with children in our programs and to deliver letters and updates.
- To send the newsletter you asked for.
- To protect the website from spam, fraud, and misuse.
- To keep records we need for our work and for accounting.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only when we need to:
- Flutterwave processes card and mobile-money donations. Their own privacy terms apply to the payment step.
- Email delivery. We use an email service to send newsletters, donation messages, and replies.
- Legal duties. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect a child, a donor, or our staff.
International visitors
This website is used by people outside Uganda. If you contact us, donate, volunteer, or subscribe from another country, your information is transferred to Uganda, where we keep it, and to our payment and email providers, who may process it in other countries. We only transfer it so we can do the things described in this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages, volunteer applications, and donation records for as long as we need them to do our work, meet accounting duties, and resolve questions about a gift. Newsletter details stay on our list until you unsubscribe. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
Cookies
The public site uses one essential session cookie so forms can be submitted safely and so a signed-in staff member stays logged in to the admin area. It is not used to track you across other websites. Because we do not set advertising or analytics cookies, we do not show a cookie banner. You can block cookies in your browser; contact and donation forms may then stop working.
Children
Our programs serve children. Profiles on the sponsorship page are published by us for that purpose, with only the details needed for sponsorship. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website. A parent, guardian, or sponsor can write to us about a child’s profile and we will review it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete information we no longer need, or restrict how we use it.
- Stop sending the newsletter. Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or email us.
- Object to a use of your information that is not required for a donation you asked us to process.
Email info@centerfortomorrow.org and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you can also complain to a data protection authority. In Uganda, that is the Personal Data Protection Office. In the EU or the UK, you can complain to the authority in your country.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections where the site is served over HTTPS, limited staff access, and a payment checkout that does not leave card numbers on our servers. No website can promise perfect security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. The new version applies from the day it is posted.
