Other Ways to Give
These are some specific areas that you can give to: Click on a photo below to view details on the project and to donate.
Sponsorship
Sponsoring a child is a personal way to help a child in need to access education. For $25 a month, you will help to give a child an opportunity to escape poverty, contribute to their communities and indirectly reduce their risk to child labour, child marriage and early childbearing.
Food and Nutrition
For families that live on less than $1 a day, your support will help to enable the children have access to nutritious food both at home and at school. A child studying on a full stomach will excel in school. $20 a month can pay for school meals for a child while for $100 a month, this can sustain a family of 5 people per month and improve their health too.
Menstrual Hygiene
With your generous annual contribution of $30, one girl child can get access to sanitary pads and stops skipping school on days when they are in their periods. This would also provide for accessibility to clean water and soap in the girl’s bathroom because its crucial for maintaining their hygiene and dignity, preventing absenteeism, and promoting overall well-being.
Reading Culture
We aim at having community libraries where children and community members can have access to reading materials both in their native language and official language. Creating access to a wide variety of books can be attained through monetary donations or sending books directly to us. Reading culture will help the children to promote their cognitive development, better mental well-being and improve their academic success.
Skills Training
A big number of Ugandans are both uneducated and without any skillset. This puts them in a challenging situation in a third world country without hardly any social benefits. Vocational skills like tailoring, making sandals, candles, shaggy mats and production of liquid soap can be the difference between the whole family starving or being empowered to meet their basic needs, (food, water, shelter, clothes). Your help will empower the women and youth to fight against poverty and reduce the chances of being victims of gender based violence and discrimination in their homes and communities.
